We ask all couples to meet with a pastor a number of times before the wedding for pre-marriage counseling.

We also have a wedding coordinator to help you with your preparations.

What do you mean by "contemporary"?

Contemporary is a word to describe the style of some of our worship services.  Contemporary refers to the language used as well as the format and the music selections.  These services follow a liturgical format but use today's language and music to honor God.  Contemporary services are often informal in nature.

What about my children?

We welcome children of all ages to Holy Spirit.  We have a number of opportunities focused on helping Children grow in their faith.  We offer a number of choirs, day camps and service opportunities for children and their family.  During worship we have nursery care and at 9:30am on Sundays we have Sunday school for all ages.

How do I become a member?

Becoming a member of Holy Spirit is easy.  Simply attend one of our 101 - membership courses.  Where you learn about the history, purposes and mission of the church.  This course is offered a number of times throughout the year on Sunday evenings.

Note: Membership is not required to participate in the life of Holy Spirit, although we would  encourage you to become a member if you want to make Holy Spirit your church home.

What Does ELCA Stand For?

It stands for Evangelical Church in America.  An organization of  Lutheran Churches that formed in 1988.

Sacraments

The Lutheran church celebrates two sacraments - the sacrament of Holy Baptism and the sacrament of Holy Communion.  We honor and celebrate other rites such as confession & absolution, marriage, and ordination, but do not consider these sacraments.

Did You know?

That the ELCA is comprised of about 5 million members in the United States and the Caribbean, and that Lutherans comprise the second largest Protestant grouping in the world?
