Our Mission

We exist to Invite people into God's kingdom,

to Inspire people with the good news of Jesus Christ,

and to Ignite people to serve in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Get Involved!

There are a variety of ways to serve at Holy Spirit.

Worship, fellowship events, community service or working with children and youth.

Become a Mentor

A great opportunity to serve is through mentoring a young person.  Holy Spirit encourages adult mentoring in the confirmation program.

Each year 13 and 14 year old students are paired with an adult in the congregation and meet once a month for support, caring interaction and faith sharing.  This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of young people.

Contact Church Office about this great ministry.

Family Promise

Four times a year we host "temporarily" homeless families through Family Promise at Holy Spirit Lutheran Church.  This is an opportunity to prepare and serve meals, interact with families, be an overnight host, or help with clean up for those in need.

Family Promise is a national organization dedicated to helping families get back on their feet after difficult circumstances or financial hardship.

Watch the monthly newsletter for more information.

Baby Layettes

Items for newborns and babies are collected throughout the year for Lutheran Social Services (LSSN).

Items such as clothes, blankets, baby toys & items are collected and then assembled into kits before delivering to LSSN.

Food items are also collected in the "Billie Barrel" throughout the year and taken to LSSN.

Members Helping Members!

Helping those in need with food, errands and transportation while ill or after surgery.

Thanksgiving & Christmas Baskets!

Holy Spirit regularly helps needy families in the community have a wonderful holiday by collecting, assembling and delivering food gift baskets.

Community Outreach

There are many ways to reach out to the community.  The Community Ministry Team organizes a number of year round collections for service organizations and families in need.

Come and help make our community a brighter and safer place to live.  Support our local social services such as Lutheran Social Services of Nevada (LSSN) by donating food and baby items (clothes, blankets, bottles, formula) in the Billie Barrel.

These items are regularly collected and delivered directly to LSSN.

Tobler Elementary School  - 6 blocks northeast of our church.  Items being collected are backpacks, jackets, changes of clothes to have on hand in the Health Office, and school supplies for some children to take and use at home.  See the Evangelism Bulletin Board in Fellowship Hall to sign up.

Habitat For Humanity

A couple of times a year people from Holy Spirit join together to help build a Habitat home.

Habitat For Humanity is an organization that builds homes for needy families around the country.  Families have to put in "sweat equity" hours to help build their home along with hundreds of volunteers.

For safety reasons, Habitat For Humanity allows students 16 years or older ONLY on construction sites.
