Anchor Watch Men's Ministry
What does "Anchor
Watch" mean?
In military nautical terms,
anchor watch is a crew
assigned to keep watch of the ship while
at anchor. They monitor the position of
the ship to detect any movement of the
anchor, while preparing the ship for
departure. We have adapted this term to mean
that the only anchor needed is Jesus Christ.
We utilize the 5 purposes laid out by Pr.
Rick Warren in his 40 days
of
purpose program - Worship,
Fellowship, Decipleship, Ministry and
Evangelism. If we keep our ships
(worship, fellowship, decipleship) in line,
we are led into ministry with the ultimate
goal of evangelism. So if
we keep our eyes
and life focused on our
anchor
Jesus, our ships will not go off-course and
become lost at sea.

Does Anchor Watch meet regularly?
Absolutely!!
Meetings are scheduled
on the
FIRST
Saturday of each month. Once per quarter
(every 3 months) meetings are held on the
FIRST
Monday evening of that month. Saturday
morning meetings are scheduled for 9:00 AM
and evening meetings are at 6:30 PM.
Meetings are generally run 60 to 90 minutes
depending on the agenda for that meeting.
What kinds of activities are there?
Our Crew has
attended sporting events such as
professional hockey and minor league
baseball. We are always involved in
providing a crew for a Habitat for
Humanity build. We are currently planning
for a one day shore leave! That's a
day we get away from our everyday lives and
spend time out in God's creation, nature! We
have had a bar-b-que and pancake breakfast
with more activities being planned every
month.
